For years, I have dedicated my professional practice and continuous training to assisting mothers and babies from the prenatal period, to the delivery room, to the nursery or neonatal pathology, and I accompany them during their growth.
In 2022, I decided to train, take the exam, and become an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) to support, with specific and quality assistance, the needs and desires of breastfeeding women, infants, children, and families, as a specialist in the clinical management of breastfeeding and human lactation.
What motivated me to acquire this qualification was precisely the lack of specific training in the field of breastfeeding
a topic loaded with cultural legacies, false myths, misinformation or informational confusion, unfortunately even among healthcare personnel who take care of the woman first in the hospital setting and then in the community. I emerged enormously enriched as a woman, as part of my team, and as a freelancer.
The peripartum is an important and delicate period, full of anxieties and worries, of unsolicited and misleading advice
that also come from those who wish to do good for the new mother and the baby but in most cases end up offering solutions that are enormously far from the physiological needs of the dyad, depriving them of the not rare but unique opportunity to start their children's lives in health and according to nature.
As an IBCLC I am prepared to inform you and make you aware and able to make informed decisions, to support you by respecting your requests and desires, guided by a precise code of ethics and in full respect of scientific evidence.
